Indoor plants + how not to kill them

My mum is wonderful with plants but the skill clearly didn't get passed on to me. Maybe my indoor plants die because I'm too lazy to water them, or there isn't enough light coming in my bedroom window? Wishful thinking, I'm nearly sure my plants just hate me. Anyway, here's a quick little guide for you lucky people who can keep your plants alive, and for those like me who are commonly known as 'the plant killer'.

Indoor plants don't really exist, there are simply plants which are better at living indoors than others. Making plants live inside is a bit like putting people in jail but they're just oh-so pretty, am I right? And they purify your air! Now, for a list of hard-to-kill plants;

1. The ZZ Plant - I've heard this guy will probably live longer than your unborn children.
2. Sansevieria (snake plant, mother-in-law's tongue) - Hey, you lazy? You live in a unnecessarily dark place? This one is for you.
3. Ponytail Palm - Mini palm tree that you doesn't mind if you forget to water it? Beats a pet any day!
4. Aglaonemas (chinese evergreen) -  Detoxifying your air, yeah!
5. Pothos - Clever little plant who's up for living in the city.
6. Schefflera - Easy peasy maintenance but make sure you dust him off every now and then!

So you've got some plants that aren't likely to die, but how can you care for them properly? And how can you care for plants that aren't as tough?

1. Make sure your plant gets lots of light! Soak up that sun, baby!
2. Water your green friend. Are you thirsty? Your plant probably is too.
3. Watch out for those evil little plant pests.
4. Put him in a nice pot. Just like when you feel good in a nice outfit, your plant will feel good in a nice pot!
5. Make sure the plant you choose will work well in your home.

I hope this post will help you guys, after all- nobody likes a dead plant!
